Biannual publication (May and November)
This journal was founded by Alba Valencia Espinoza in 2010 during her presidency, as a new channel for disseminating the activities of the Association's research groups.
Cuadernos de la ALFAL aims to disseminate articles originated in research projects sponsored by the Association or in ALFALitos organized by the different regional delegations or member groups. Articles must be unpublished and deal with topics related to Spanish, Portuguese or indigenous American languages, their associated literatures and cultures. Contributions must be written in Spanish or Portuguese, the official languages of ALFAL.
Since its tenth issue, the journal is published in May and November of each year. Access to the volumes is free of charge. The rights holder is the Asociación de Lingüística y Filología de América Latina (ALFAL), a non-profit corporation. Published texts may be reproduced in whole or in part, provided that their source and authorship are duly cited.
To ensure the preservation of articles, the PKP PN service has been enabled in this Open Journal System platform. In addition, the DOI assignment has been implemented to grant permanent locations of the articles. In addition, the journal uses the LOCKSS system, allowing the creation of permanent archives of the journal for preservation and restoration purposes.
